Site contributor Will Calhoun attended the TNA Impact Wrestling tapings at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL last night and sent in the following notes from the show. The results below are for the show that will air this Thursday, July 28, 2011.

Kurt Angle came to the ring for a promo. He asked Hulk Hogan to come out so they can end this once and for all. Angle said all week that Hogan has been blowing up his phone. Angle says there is nothing appealing to him about Immortal. It is led by two of the biggest scumbags in the world in Bischoff and Hogan. He is going to beat Sting for the TNA World Heavyweight Title at Hardcore Justice and because he has never beaten Sting before. He wants to prove that he is the best in the world. He asks if Hogan knows what it’s like to be the best in the world. Hogan says he knows. When there was no Sting, Matt Morgan, or Rob Van Dam.

When there were no ‘Young Guns’ he carried the business on his back. He turned the business from territories into an international phenomenon. When Angle was still pooping in his diapers, Hogan was selling out arenas. Hogan says he has been calling Angle because he thinks Angle has had a vision of a higher level. He wants to help Angle make more money. He questions why Angle is disrespecting him.

Angle says that the reason he is not kicking Hogan’s ass now is because he respects Hogan. Angle says unlike Anderson he can’t be bought. Hogan says he paid to see him like many others. Angle questions if he can go anymore and Hogan says that he will never set foot in this ring anymore due to his eight back surgeries. Hogan says that if Angle is going to keep insulting his kids and whatnot then Angle will have to prove something.

He calls what Angle has done a fluke, including his gold medal win. If Angle wants to fight with him over pride, we are close to seeing that right now. Angle says that there is no doubt in his mind that Hogan can still go. Hogan asks Angle what he is trying to say. Angle says Hogan is trying to pay him money to take out Sting. Angle says why doesn’t Hogan take out Sting himself and then Angle leaves.

Rob Van Dam defeated Gunner in a Bound For Glory Series Match with a five star frog splash.

They did a backstage promo with Eric Bischoff and Immortal (Bully Ray, Jeff Jarrett, Abyss, Ken Anderson, and Karen Jarrett). The Network has sent a letter to Bischoff that due to the success of Destination X they have to bring in more X Division talents. Hogan shows up and says he wants to eliminate Angle. Brother Ray volunteers Ken Anderson to do it. Ray says if Anderson is afraid they can have Karen take care of it. Bischoff reads more of the letter but Sting shows up in a red suit and he is carrying a black cage that is covered up. Sting says that everyone in Immortal knows that he has a great relationship with the Network. Sting tells Immortal that he is now the Network Executive. The first line of business is he is confirming Kurt Angle versus Ken Anderson tonight is a Steel Cage Match. He then says that Fortune is going to be around the ring to make sure that Immortal doesn’t get involved. Hogan tells Sting that has no power to do that, but Sting says he just did it.

Brian Kendrick and Alex Shelley come out for a promo. Kendrick says some cryptic stuff and Shelley translates it as “Austin Aries is a jackass” and calls Aries out. Aries comes out to the ring (Aries has new entrance music and video for the screen). Shelley drops names of people who helped define the X Division including Low Ki, Jerry Lynn, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Brian Kendrick, and himself. Shelley commends Aries on winning the contract but says the X Division was defined on ‘hybrid wrestling’ and calls out Aries on his cheating.

Aries says he played by their rules when he beat two guys to qualify and he continued to play by the rules when he beat three guys to earn his contract. Now he is playing by his rules. His one rule is to win at all costs. He says Shelley and Kendrick are about pleasing the fans but Aries is out to do what is best for himself. He points out that he has had plenty of five star matches but he is about having a five star bank account. With him the ends justify the means and the ends will be him winning the X Division Title.

Kendrick takes the mic and says some more cryptic stuff. Aries asks if he can get that translated. The crowd chants you suck and Shelley says there is the translation. Shelley says he is going to get his rematch at Hardcore Justice against Kendrick and Aries will be involved in a Three Way Dance.

Abyss comes out and says they don’t make the decisions. Abyss says he is getting his rematch against Brian Kendrick tonight and he will kill the X Division once and for all. Sting comes on the screen and he says he has more stroke than Hogan and Bischoff combined. Sting says they will find out if monsters are afraid of heights because Abyss will face Brian Kendrick for the X Division Title in an Ultimate X Match.

Crimson defeated Bully Ray in a Bound For Glory Series Match.

Winter defeated Tara. Angelina Love and Miss Tessmacher came out with their respective partners but were sent to the back before the match started. Tara went for the Widow’s Peak but referee Earl Hebner got bumped, Winter hit Tara with a mule kick followed by the Swinging Side Slam into a Backbreaker for the win.

Velvet Sky and Traci Brooks come out for a promo. Traci says she is issuing a personal invite to ODB and Miss Jackie. They walk down the ramp. Traci says she was the original Knockout. She says that TNA asked her to move aside to make room for fresh faces. Traci says that she didn’t try to jump over people like Velvet. This ends tonight.

ODB says that she and Jackie didn’t lose her jobs until Velvet started rubbing herself all over the ropes. Velvet left no room for the real ass-kicking women.

Velvet takes the mic and talks about how she was bullied when she was younger. As she grew older, she told herself she was not going to be a victim. The day she came to TNA was the happiest day of her life. She earned her spot. Velvet says she doesn’t owe them an apology. She understands the way both of them feel. Velvet says if they wanted their jobs they should have tried asking. Velvet says that they can do whatever they want here, but Velvet is no longer being anyone’s punching bag and walks out.

Backstage, Fortune is talking and mention how they have a Six Man Tag Match at Hardcore Justice. Daniels pulls AJ aside and asks if he remembers what they talked about last week.

Sting shows up and asks if they are ready to keep all the bad guys away from the ring tonight. AJ asks what is in the cage he is carrying around and Sting says it is a present for Eric Bischoff, and he is going to give to him right now.

TNA X Division Champion Brian Kendrick defeated Abyss to retain the TNA X Division Title in an Ultimate X Match. Throughout the match, Abyss was hesitant to climb to the top rope, and tried shaking the Ultimate X structure to knock down the X Division title. Kendrick tried to climb the cables but Abyss managed to stop Kendrick a few times. Abyss went to chokeslam Kendrick but he lifted Kendrick up high enough for Kendrick to grab the X Division title and win the match.

Kurt Angle defeated Ken Anderson in Steel Cage Match. At one point, Kurt Angle hit a top rope Angle Slam on Anderson. Immortal came down to the ring to battle with Fortune. Mexican America came down to the ring and targeted Beer Money. Bully Ray shows up on his own when everyone else was gone from ringside. He used one of the camera cuts in the cage to grab Angle, distracting him and giving Anderson the advantage. Ray opened the cage door to give Anderson a chair. As Anderson went to take the chair, Ray held onto it. Angle took advantage and hit Anderson with the Angle Slam and got the pin.

After the match, Ray walked up the ramp and left. The lights went out and Sting was in the ring and raised Angle’s arm for his victory.

Xplosion (International TV): Crimson defeated Devon in an Xplosion Championship Series Match.
